Boot Dusseldorf 2019: Boat Show & Watersport Exhibition

The Dusseldorf International Boat Show or „boot Dusseldorf“ or just „boot“ is one of the premier boat shows. With some 1900 exhibitors from 68 countries and more than 300,000 visitors spread across 18 exhibit halls „boot“ is considered a benchmark for the international boat and water sports industry for the duration of a week in the end of January.

The 1st Dusseldorf Boat Show was opened on 27 November 1969. It starded with 116 exhibitors from 8 countries. During the early 1990s, super yachts were introduced in Dusseldorf.

One of the most interesting events is ceremony of „prize giving“ for The European Yacht and Powerboat of the year award.

The European Yacht of the Year Award was initiated by Yacht magazine in 2001 and since voted by twelve leading European sailing magazines (Badnyt Denmark, Batnytt Sweden, Fare Vela Italy, Seilas Norway, Swissboat Yachitng Switzerland, Voile Magazine France, Waterkampione the Netherlands, Yacht Revue Austria, Yachting World England and Yate Spain) and presented at „boot“.

Every year aroung 60 new sailing boats are launched on the European Market. But only five shipyards can celebrate the title „European Yacht of the Year 2019“. Boot Dusseldorf has also become a favorite launch location for many yacht builders.

The European Powerboat of the Year Award was initiated by BOOTE magazine of Germany at boot in 2005. More than 200 new boat models appear annually on the motorboat market. There are five categories (five lenght classes) every year awarded.

Besided, award-winning yacht all other shipyards who keep up to their reputation had the presentation of new ships. Of course, we have to point out the most importants brands like Pershing, Wally, Swan, Sunseeker, Princess and many others.
